Seven chapters planned
DELTARUNE is an episodic RPG: creator Toby Fox planned the full story across seven chapters. Five are out now, and the game’s Chapter Select screen shows the remaining two slots as empty placeholders with no titles or dates.

Chapters 1 and 2 were released free, Chapters 3 and 4 arrived together as the first paid package, and Chapter 5 was delivered as a free update to owners. See the release dates page for the full timeline.
Chapters 6 & 7
The final two chapters are unreleased. Chapter 6 is targeting a 2027 release (official Steam FAQ), and Toby Fox has said some developers could begin work on Chapter 7 before the end of 2026. Progress — choices, inventory, equipment and Dark Dollars — carries forward between chapters through your Completion FILEs, so nothing you do is lost while you wait.
