Chapter 1 & 2: the free releases (2018–2021)
DELTARUNE launched without warning on October 31, 2018 — Chapter 1 was a free download for PC and Mac. A PS4 and Switch version of Chapter 1 followed on February 28, 2019.
Chapter 2 surprised players on September 17, 2021, also free on PC and Mac, with the Chapter 1 + 2 bundle arriving on Switch and PS4 on September 23, 2021.
Chapters 3 & 4: the paid release (June 5, 2025)
After years of development, Chapters 3 and 4 released together on June 5, 2025 on PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS4 and PS5. This was the game’s first paid release — the full game at $24.99 — and a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Chapter 5 ‘Festival Day’ (June 24, 2026)
Chapter 5, titled ‘Festival Day’, launched on June 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EDT, simultaneously worldwide on all platforms, as a free update for everyone who owns the game. It broke DELTARUNE’s Steam player record with 291,816 concurrent players on launch day.
Chapter 6 and beyond
Chapter 6 is targeting a 2027 release according to the official Steam FAQ, and will arrive as a free update for owners. There is no release window yet for the final planned chapters. See the chapters guide for the full list and the roadmap for the latest status.
